A pessimist / An optimist

A pessimist / An optimist

"A pessimist is one who makes difficulties of his opportunities and an optimist is one who makes
opportunities of his difficulties."
- Harry S. Truman, 33rd President of the United States of America

Truman was widely despised during his time as president. So sure was the media that he would lose re-election, papers were published ahead of final results proclaiming his opponent, Dewey,
as the winner. He spoke frankly and bluntly, and was considered stupid and not fit for the presidency by many. He was, and remained to his death - a pragmatic optimist. Allegations of corruption by the rival political party dogged his administration but were never proven. He is now widely considered to be one of our country's greatest presidents.
